TRURO CITY BOWLING CLUB

Kenwyn Road, Truro

TR1 3SY

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

To all Club Members,

It has been decided that the Club will reopen for play on Monday 29th June.

For the first week at least 2M social distancing will have to be observed. We await further advice from Bowls England if the social distancing is reduced to 1M from 4th. July.

The Club will be open for roll ups only, initially, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays at 2pm. If you have indicated that you are interested in participating and approx 20 members have, you will need to arrive at 2pm on the day or days you decide to play. We are not operating a booking system but you will need to register your attendance on each occasion you play (someone will be at the Club to oversee this registration). We do not envisage all 20 people turning up on every occasion.

I have not received responses from a number of members so if you are receiving this and think you have not received my previous email please let me know. I don't want anyone to miss out.

The conditions you will have to abide by will be posted at the club and be reiterated verbally before each playing session. These will cover, restricted access to the Clubhouse & sanitisation of hands & equipment before & after play amongst other things.

You will need to be prepared to integrate into groups for play. ( If for instance 18 people turn up 3rinks of triples could be played) You cannot expect to be able to roll up on your own or in a pair, say.

You will need to bring with you your shoes, bowls and any other personal equipment you will need. There will be no access to the Changing Rooms. If you require a drink you must bring your own. There will be no access to the Kitchen at all.

Toilet facilities will be restricted to the use of the Disabled Toilet only to limit the need for cleaning and sanitisation of toilet facilities each day.

I am aware of one or two members who are unable to play in the afternoon due to work commitments and we will endeavour to make separate arrangements for them.

Finally all those playing will need to have paid their annual subscription before taking to the green..

I am sending this to all Club Members even those who have said they do not wish to play at this time. If you change your mind at any time please let me know, don't just turn up.

Regards,

Peter Kniveton
